I went to St. John Cantius High School and walked to work daily from there. I worked for the company - Commissary Foods, Inc. We provided various menu items for the Manner's Big Boy Restaurants. We made the burgers on site from huge sides of beef stored in freezers in the warehouse. A lot of things changed over the years, but I still have a lot of good memories of the other companies (Northern Foods, Willard Sugar, etc) and the people who worked there, too. It will be sad to see the building go.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2140721014134558960.post-90875010376359319172010-09-08T10:32:56.350-04:002010-09-08T10:32:56.350-04:00I have always loved the Cold Storage Building and ...I have always loved the Cold Storage Building and look forward to reading Ms. Campbell's document.

I'm thinking the building was also the home for some rather controversial billboards at one time. I will miss it nonetheless.

Thanks for this.Erin O'Brienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09089592061725346901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2140721014134558960.post-45863157642394323732010-09-06T08:35:56.903-04:002010-09-06T08:35:56.903-04:00Turn Back to the Bible and Read ItTurn Back to the Bible and Read ItAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2140721014134558960.post-64561024219544549992010-08-30T17:40:57.565-04:002010-08-30T17:40:57.565-04:00Another one bites the dust!Another one bites the dust!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2140721014134558960.post-36024112969949138662010-08-30T15:26:44.061-04:002010-08-30T15:26:44.061-04:00What I loved about the building was not the the fl...What I loved about the building was not the the flat side it provided for billboards, but rather the canvas it provided for graffiti artists. I will have to dig through my photo archives to see what I can find. A few show up on "Flats Westbank (1)" at Tabblo (http://www.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view/98036/)Frank A.
